A community product -- that is what the BROOKLYN REAL ESTATE BOARD may be termed. For many years, this Organization has been active in educating the community about Real Estate and other related matters that affect our day-to-day lives.

The organization was originally formed in Bay Ridge in 1926 by a group of public-spirited citizens with George F. Chambers at the helm as its first president. The Organization received its charter on February 24, 1927 as the REALTY BROKERS OF BAY RIDGE, INC. by the following original members: Robert A. Simonson, Edward J. Kingsbury, Edward M. Duffy, W. Knox Phillips, Ernest Tutino, Harold T. Beirson, William Armstrong, Samuel J. Scarpati and David F. Brown. On August 23, 1945, under the presidency of Frank A. Badolato with Secretary Frank J. Scalisi, the name of the Organization was changed to the BAY RIDGE REAL ESTATE BOARD, INC. On October 17, 2001, under the auspices of the Executive Vice-President Pauline Hadjispyrou, the presidency of Ben A. DiGirolamo with Secretary Vincent Motola, the Board became a/k/a BROOKLYN REAL ESTATE BOARD.

Throughout the years, this Organization has maintained an active role in the community as members of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce and the Bay Ridge Community Council, and its aim has been to foster a spirit of cooperation between its member and the community.

We are proud to be regarded as the premier organization that provides professional development and training to the real estate industry. We encourage all to join our monthly meetings and educational seminars.

This Organization is rich in history and memories, and in the year 2002 proudly celebrated its 75th year of service to the Brooklyn community. As we look forward to the future, let us never forget the past for it is what has shaped whom we are today.
